What are the tags for messages after 24 hours?
Rule 24 + 1:
When customers interact with Page's Messenger (texting, liking messages, accessing ref m.me link), the Page has 24 hours to send promotional messages.
After 24 hours since the last interaction, you must not send promotional messages to customers.
However, Facebook allows pages to send messages after 24 hours with message tags. Message tags mustn’t be used to send promotional content, including but not limited to deals, offers, coupons, and discounts. Use of tags outside of the approved use cases below may result in restrictions on the Page's ability to send messages.
1. CONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATE tag
Description: Send the user reminders or updates for an event they have registered for (e.g., RSVP'ed, purchased tickets). This tag may be used for upcoming events and events in progress.
- Allowed:
Reminder about upcoming classes, appointments, or events that the user has scheduled.
Confirmation of user's reservation or attendance to an accepted event or appointment
Notification of user's transportation or trip scheduled, such as arrival, cancellation, baggage delay, or other status changes.
- Disallowed:
Promotional content, including but not limited to deals, offers, coupons, and discounts.
Content related to an event the user has not signed up for (e.g., reminders to purchase event tickets, cross-sell of other events, tour schedules, etc)
Messages related to past events.
Prompts to any survey, poll, or review unrelated to a preceding interaction in Messenger.
2. POST_PURCHASE_UPDATE tag
Description: Notify the user of an update on a recent purchase.
- Allowed:
Confirmation of transaction, such as invoices or receipts
Notification of shipment status, such as product in-transit, shipped, delivered, or delayed
Changes related to an order that the user placed, such as credit card has been declined, back order items, or other order updates that require the user’s actions
- Disallowed (non-exhaustive):
Promotional content, including but not limited to deals, promotions, coupons, and discounts.
Messages that cross-sell or upsell products or services.
Prompts to any survey, poll, or review unrelated to a preceding interaction in Messenger.
3. ACCOUNT_UPDATE tag
Description: Notify the user of a non-recurring change to their application or account.
- Allowed:
A change in application status (e.g., credit card, job)
Notification of suspicious activity, such as fraud alerts
- Disallowed (non-exhaustive):
Promotional content, including but not limited to deals, promotions, coupons, and discounts
Recurring content (e.g., the statement is ready, the bill is due, new job listings)
Prompts to any survey, poll, or review unrelated to a preceding interaction in Messenger
Eg:
You send the message content below and tag POST_PURCHASE_UPDATE
Message 1: “Thank you for your order 1234. We are currently processing your order”
Message 2: “Check again if you are sure you want red?”
When these 2 messages are sent, the Facebook Moderation team will flag your fanpage as a policy violation because the second message does not mention any transaction.
The CORRECT way is:
Message 1: “Thank you for your order 1234. We are processing your order now”
Message 2: “For your order 1234, double check if you are sure you want red?”
All messages in a notification CARDS, MUST have content that is 100% relevant to that particular notification tag:
If it's CONFIRMED_EVENT_UPDATE - every message must have that EVENT name
If it's ACCOUNT_UPDATE - every message must have some ACCOUNT detail mentioned
If it's POST_PURCHASE_UPDATE - every message must have some detail about the PURCHASE mentioned
